Vision Creates A Productive Channel
Vision & Our Mental Channels
You can think about your mind’s focus and attention like a channel. And there are two: we’re talking about a productive vs. an unproductive channel. Vision does a lot for us, and one of those things is supporting a productive mental channel.
Unproductive Channel
You could say that being in an unproductive channel gives you focus, but you’re focusing on depression, anxiety, stress, worry, doubt, and fear. it definitely creates emotions and focuses on negative and unproductive channel
A fixed or unproductive mindset is usually caused by what we call FLAP. The letters stand for fear, lust, anger, and pride. Those feelings are at the forefront of a fixed mindset. Without vision, we don’t have faith, and we’re not at the forefront of our thinking. A common reason this happens is if your vision is missional.
When we’re in a productive channel, we break away from fixed and unproductive mentality — instead, our thoughts bring an opportunity growth mindset.
Productive Channel
When you have a clear vision, you’re more likely to operate on a productive channel.
When we have a true vision, it puts us in a productive channel, puts context to all our decision making, allows us to be trusting, calm, assertive, confident. The productive channel allows us to focus on it. It brings context to all our decision-making.
The productive thought channel also brings an opportunity growth mindset, where we are open to constructive criticism, being mentored by others, living on faith, trusting, accepting, and being calm. This mindset gives us energy, focus, and optimism. With that channel of thought, we’re focused on the here and now and what we can control. We’re positive and focused on achieving your vision.
Vision puts us into the channel that allows us to look to the future. That brings people around us. They want to be around us; they want to love us and help us grow individually or as an organization.
Vision does a lot of things; it works when you work.
Changing The Channel
Even when you have a clear vision, doubt and fear will still come in. We all have those feelings.
But armed with a clear vision, you will be ready to change the channel from unproductive or weak thoughts to thoughts about the way you want to live and your vision. Thoughts about your vision are a place to redirect your mind when it moves to a weak or unproductive channel. Your productive channel thoughts are based on truth and inspired by your vision and mission.
