What To Do Next: Shift The Lens
“We Are Here For You”
How many of us not only begin the first sentence of our marketing pitch with “we,” but then continue to use “we” throughout the entire conversation? Our marketing materials are filled with “We have a new…” and “We have been around for…” when in reality, the customer’s main concern is themselves, not who we are or how long we’ve been around.
The “We are here for you” messaging is not working. You think you are being empathetic but in the consumer’s mind, it’s lazy and a commoditized conversation. Sorry, but you have been deemed irrelevant.
So what do we do?
Shift The Lens
Fear is going up and empathy will be at an all-time low. So let’s show the world around us how our vision is going to have a life-changing impact for your consumer, donor, client, or first-time guest.
Shifting the lens and treating everyone like a VIP has never been easier. We are all at home, and want to be engaged and will love you for the rest of our lives if you bring your service to us. It’s not enough to say “our doors are open,” “we are open for business,” and “we are wearing gloves and masks” and invite us to your store or expect us to come. That’s lazy. Bring your world-class relationships, team, and service to us; we are sitting here waiting for you. Shift your lens.
Now that fear is driving the market, empathy is going down, and everyone is looking out for themselves. This is your opportunity to serve up a world-class VIP Experience.
Empathy is the first step to shifting the lens to a consumer-centric model. Having empathy will allow you and your organization the opportunity to free up mindshare. This new mindshare will allow you and your team to begin the process of changing your expectations of your clients and customers but also your team, and now the messaging and VIP service will follow.
This is the opportunity as a small business that is looking to grow or stay alive in this market; we have to have empathy. Shift the lens. It’s not just saying we’re here for you; instead, engage and empower people where they’re at, and right now we are at home.
Vision & Shifting The Lens
Vision wins when we work on our vision, right now your vision has not changed but the mission of how we’re accomplishing the vision has changed. Let’s be more empathic by shifting the lens on the consumer and putting on a world-class experience in front of them. Less about you and more about your consumer, donor, client, or first-time guests.
Vision wins when you work vision. Let’s shift the lens and go after it.
