Winning sports is fun, but if you are not careful, it will attack your identity in the worst kind of way. I have learned that with winning for the Lord, there is no crowd, no cheering, only peace, patience, joy, and self-control in your spirit: that is the win. Over the years, I have had to train myself to celebrate those wins like I just won the Stanley Cup. Let your victories – big or small – be great for your spirit. After all, you never know who would be inspired by your worst valley – it just might be thousands or even millions of people.
